Modern Port Frejus was built between 1987 and 1989 on 7,3 hectares of the swamped area left by the receded over the centuries sea.
It was inaugurated on 12 of July 1989 by Francois Leotard, Mayor of Frejus.
But two thousands years ago on this place there was one of the biggest and most importand MIdeterranean harbours of the Roman Empire.
The roman remainings are still visible in city of Frejus and are well worth of a visit.
In the center of Frejus there is a cosy Archaeological Museum where history of Frejus over the centuries is clearly explained :
